How It Works

Your Body's Primary Antioxidant — Delivered Systemically

Glutathione is a tripeptide (glycine, cysteine, glutamate) produced naturally by every cell in the body. It is the primary endogenous antioxidant in human physiology — neutralizing reactive oxygen species, supporting detoxification reactions in the liver, and protecting immune cells from oxidative damage. Glutathione levels decline under conditions of oxidative stress: illness, environmental toxin exposure, intense physical training, aging, and chronic inflammation.

Oral glutathione supplementation has limited clinical utility because GI enzymes break it down before systemic absorption. IV delivery bypasses this limitation, achieving plasma and tissue glutathione concentrations that support detoxification at a systemic level. At Vitality Texas, glutathione IV is administered as a standalone infusion or as an add-on to the Myers Cocktail or Immune Boost protocol.

At Vitality Texas, glutathione IV is framed as detoxification support, liver health support, and antioxidant protection — evidence-supported applications. We do not make any skin-lightening or cosmetic claims for glutathione therapy.

Protocol & What to Expect

1

Consultation

Dr. Jaqua reviews your health history and goals. Glutathione IV is appropriate for most patients; liver disease history is reviewed before prescribing.

2

Formula

Glutathione is prepared in IV solution. It can be administered as a standalone infusion or added to your existing IV protocol (Myers Cocktail, Vitamin C IV, Immune Boost).

3

Session

20 to 45 minutes depending on dose and whether combined with another IV formula.

4

Frequency

Dr. Jaqua will recommend a frequency based on your goals. Monthly sessions are common for ongoing antioxidant support. More frequent sessions may be recommended during periods of high oxidative stress or illness recovery.

Who Benefits

Good Candidates for Glutathione IV

Glutathione IV is appropriate for patients with documented oxidative stress markers, those recovering from illness or surgery, patients on programs with elevated detoxification demands, and those seeking general antioxidant support.

Patients on our medical weight loss program benefit from glutathione support during significant caloric restriction and metabolic adaptation periods. Patients combining multiple IV protocols often add glutathione as a second agent after Myers Cocktail.

Compliance note: Vitality Texas frames glutathione IV as detoxification and antioxidant support. We do not make cosmetic, skin-tone, or complexion claims. If a patient has questions about dermatological applications of glutathione, we refer them to a dermatologist.
